Elan Winter Show

December holiday began in Elan. Elan has invited its business partners and interested buyers at first Elan Winter Show. They presented sailing boats of Performance line Elan 210 nominated for European boat of the year 2012, Elan 350 European Boat of the year 2011, Elan 310, Elan 450 and from the Impression line was presented newcomer Impression 394 and visitors already familiar Impression 444. On winter show you could see also nautical equipment. Visitors were also able to see the production of sailing boats and skis. Over the weekend, the fair was held from Friday to Sunday, Elan Winter Show attended more than 350 nautical enthusiasts.
Elan team wants to thank all visitors to visit and spent their precious time on company Elan. For the next year they promise to make Elan Winter Show even more interesting and worth seeing.

Barcolana - Elan is always very close to the members of its family !

On Sunday 19th of November the ceremony of prizes giving of Barcolana took place in Trieste . The news of this year had been the monotype classification for serial boats . Elan, as one of the most popular brand on the market, had been the only marine producer with 4 different classes : elan 31 , elan 33, elan 333 and elan 37 . The 4 winners of the 4 classes were honored with a pair of brand new Elan
Amphibio skies.

P1 Boats today announced that the Company has signed an agreement with Elan – nautical division, of Slovenia, to represent exclusively their line of Sailboats for California, USA. The Elan – nautical division of Sailboats includes many award winning Sailboats and this year won the European Sailboat of the year for their performance 350 Sailboat. Elan 210 got the Nomination for the European boat of the year 2011/12

Final test with the jury that represent 10 largest nautical magazines in Europe will take place in Barcelona, after the show in November.
The announcement of the winners will take place during boat show Boot, Düsseldorf in January 2012.

Nautic division of Elan d.o.o. Slovenia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Navsail as the sole Elan Yacht Dealer for New Zealand.
Elan sees this move as a consolidation of the two markets, New Zealand and Australia, giving new direction and support for their yacht range in this part of the Pacific with Navsail having held the Australian Dealership for past 8 years.
The Gulf Group Marine Brokerage take the role as the sole Elan Agents in New Zealand with renewed backing and support and with 13 offices covering the North and South Islands, they are keenly placed to promote and service the highly regarded Elan range of yachts.

The jury of editors from 10 biggest European nautical magazines decided for the title of European boat of the year 2011.
This prestigious award belongs to ELAN 350. ELAN has made an impressive achievement with the new ELAN 350, which is the result of collaboration between Rob Humphreys and Elan design team. There was no doubt about the winner. The jury says that "ELAN 350 has overtaken all the expectations and we had no doubts about the winner". Boote 2011

At the 2011 Boote boat show, scheduled to take place between 22 and 30 January in Dusseldorf, Germany, Elan will present the global public with Elan 210, while Elan 310, Elan 350, Elan 450 Vulcain limited edition and Impression 444 family edition will also be displayed. Elan 350 was nominated for the 2010 European Boat of the year award. The winning vessel will be announced on January 22, 2011, on the opening day of the boat show.

The eminent Les Glénans sailing school to sail with Elan 310

Europe's largest sailing school Les Glénans, founded in France in 1947, has been educating sailors and providing them with verified education and official certificates for a number of years. From its opening to this day they have taught over 300 000 students how to sail. Their sailing instructors teach classes on an exclusively voluntary basis in schools based in France, Italy and Ireland. At this year's fleet renewal they decided to buy 4 of Elan’s E 310 sailing yachts. These are not their first Elan vessels as they have already had 7 of Elan 31 sailing yachts as part of their fleet. This is a tremendous success for Elan and a confirmation of quality of their performance sailing yachts, suitable for teaching sport sailing or the more leisurely family sailing.

ELAN 310 nominated for "Hiswa yacht of the year" 2011

Elan 310 sail yacht was nominated for the 2011 “Hiswa yacht of the year” award, chosen annually at the Hiswa Outdoor Boat Show. The winner will be declared at the Hiswa Boat Show which will take place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 1¬–6 March 2011. All nominated vessels can be displayed at the boat show free of charge.

Elan 350 Nominated European Yacht of the Year 2010

Elan 350 received a nomination for the prestigious award European Yacht of the Year 2010 in the performance range. The winner of this award will, like every year before, be announced at the Boote 2011 Boat Show. Two other vessels were also nominated in the performance class along with Elan 350; First 30 and Dehler 32. Deciding on which of the nominated vessels is best will be journalists from global nautical magazines. The winner will be announced towards the end of January 2011 at the Boote Boat Show in Germany. Elan already won this prestigious award in 2007 with Elan 340 and in 2006 with Impression 344.

50 HONORARY CONSULS EXCITED BY THEIR VISIT TO ELAN

On Thursday, 18th June 50 honorary consuls from 37 different countries visited Elan. Dr Robert Ferko, chairman of the board at Elan Skupina, started their visit by presenting Elan’s divisions and their products, while Leon Korošec, executive director of the winter division, described Elan’s history and the internationally well recognized Elan brand. The visitors also went on a tour of Elan’s nautical and winter division production lines. They concluded their visit convinced in the fact that Elan truly is one of Slovenia’s most recognized brands. A brand they would happily represent in their countries and assist in improving its recognisability.

Greek ambassador to Slovenia visits Elan

On Tuesday, June 15 2010, chairman of the board of directors at Elan Skupina, Dr Robert Ferko, welcomed Dionyssios Coundoureas the Greek ambassador to Slovenia. Mr Coundoureas expressed his admiration for Elan’s sailing yachts, especially Elan’s newest, Impression 444. He was also very optimistic about the current crisis in Greece, and said that an increase of nautical tourism there is possible with investments in the construction of marinas. During his visit, his Excellency was shown our yacht production line and some of the products from our winter programme. Elan’s nautical division has a distributor in Greece, who has been selling Elan’s yachts and boats for many years. There are several dozen of our sailing yachts navigating the Mediterranean and in the future we hope to further increase that number.

JOINING OF TWO ELAN COMPANIES TO ELAN SKUPINA

Yesterday on, June 1 2010, Elan company completed the joining of Elan Marine d.o.o. and Elan d.o.o. Starting today both companies will become part of Elan Skupina d.o.o. and will be deleted from the register of companies, with all their rights and obligations transferred to Elan Skupina that is Elan d.o.o.. Independent companies that remain in the Elan Skupina are Elan Inventa d.o.o. and Elan – IP d.o.o. On this occasion Dr Robert Ferko, chairman of the board of directors at Elan Skupina, stated: “Joining of our companies allows Elan to stand under one name, just as it has been perceived and accepted by the public for the past 65 years. In the future Elan will continue to strive for excellence in technology and design and improve our recognisability in the global markets. Elan is one of Slovenia’s top companies that export most of their goods to foreign markets.”

World's first 35 feet sailing yacht with twin helm positions

This Monday, May 10, 2010, Elan Marine launched two new vessels, Elan 350 and Impression 444, in Portorož. Elan 350 is the first 35 feet sailing yacht in the world with twin helm positions which once more proves that Elan is always one step ahead of its competition. Impression 444 is the new vessel in the cruising range labelled as “the new experience in the cruising range.” The guest of honour at the formal launch was Dr. Pavel Gantar, the president of the Parliament of Republic of Slovenia, who said that “Elan brand name is one of our most famous and world-renowned names, deeply imbedded in the hearts of many sportspersons and sports enthusiasts. Elan is not just a company, but a philosophy, which - at every step - attests to how closely it lives and breathes with nature.” Dr. Robert Ferko, chairman of the board of directors at Elan Group, proudly stated: “We have launched and shown you our two new vessels. I am proud to say that Elan 350 is the end result of a new concept by Slovenia’s most recognizable brand name in the world. It reflects Elan’s excellent technical solutions and advanced technologies as well as our attractive and recognizable outline.” Both Elan 350 and Impression 444 will be put on public display at the 2010 Internautica boat show, taking place in Portorož this week.

ELAN GROUP STARTS HIRING ON GOOD SALES RESULTS

Elan Marine, part of Elan Group, and its yacht programme ended the year successfully, considering the tough competition in the nautical industry and the ongoing financial crisis. Halfway through 2009 we launched the Elan 310 yacht that entered the market with full sails and got outstandingly good sales results. This was also the reason we started rehiring; we namely increased our production capacities by 20 workers.
Elan Marine in 2010 is developing a new vessel in association with designer Rob Humphreys and our research and development department. The vessel will complement the Elan performance line between 30 and 40 feet. The unveiling of the yacht is planned for June 2010.
At the 2010 Boote Nautical Fair in Dusseldorf Elan group plans to display the entire range of Elan performance yachts including the premiere display of the already well known and accepted Elan 310.

Elan 350 and Impression 444 World Premiere

At the 2010 Internautica boat show Elan Marine will disclose Elan’s most recent yachts, the Elan 350 and Impression 444. With the unveiling of Elan 310, a multidimensional vessel, launched at the end of last August in Portorož, Elan started marketing a completely new line of performance range yachts.
Elan 310 will be followed by Elan 350, the first 35 feet long yacht with twin helm position. Elan 350 will have all characteristics of Elan 310, a wide cockpit, twin rudders and a bowsprit. Impression 444 is a continuation of Impression 434, first presented to the Slovenian public at the 2004 Internautica boat show. Impression 444 will still fascinate the minds of those looking to buy a cruising range yacht and bid them even more comfort than the well established Impression 434.
Next to Elan 350 and Impression 444 premiere, Elan Marine will also display Elan 310, Elan 380 and Elan 450 of the performance range, and Impression 514 of the cruising range at the 2010 Internautica boat show.

At this year’s Naucat contest Elan was awarded the title Boat of the year 2010. The nautical online magazine Naucat has been holding Boat of the year contests for eight years now. What’s interesting about these contests is that the fact that the only ones allowed to vote in them are boat builders who have their own representative in the Croatian market. The nominees are not allowed to vote for their own vessel. This year’s contest involved 60 yachts partitioned in 3 categories and 11 groups. In the second category, yachts up to 40 feet of length, the Elan 310 was awarded Boat of the year 2010.
Elan 310 was launched at the end of august 2009 and was accepted by the market above all expectations.
In 2009 Elan 310 received several awards including the Izola boat show award Boat of the year 2009 and the Genova boat show award Boat of the year 2009.

Elan will Launch Two New Models

The fleet of Elan Marine Begunje will be richer by two new yachts that are scheduled to be released into the marked this May. The Performance line will be joined by the Elan 350, which will provide sailors with outstanding performance and comfortably accommodate those wanting a family cruise. The Elan 350 will feature outstanding sailing performance, wide cockpit, twin helm position as well as other advancements that are to remain a secret for the time being. The latest addition to the Cruising line will be the Impression 444 which is eventually to replace the Impression 434. By giving the yacht a new design, new cockpit and a renewed interior the vessel will offer more comfort and personalization of interior layout. Both yachts were designed by Rob Humphreys, who has been successfully cooperating with Elan Marine’s research and development department for several years.
The launch and the official unveiling of the yachts will be at the 2010 Internavtika boat show that will take place between May 11 and May 16 in Portorož.

Royal Swedish Yacht Club to sail with Elan

Elan’s maritime division premiered the new Elan 310 yacht at this year’s Boot fair in Düsseldorf. We left the fair with a contract to sell Elan 310 to the Royal Swedish Yacht Club that decided to sail aboard the E 310. The order stands for three identical models, with Selden and Volvo to take part in the equipping of the yachts. The Royal Swedish Yacht Club’s decision to purchase our yachts shows their trust in the quality and the performance of Elan’s yacht line, which is something we at Elan value greatly.

The Royal Swedish Yacht Club was founded in 1830 and is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Sweden with over 6000 members. The club organizes sailing schools for children and also has an elite club, intended for the well-to-do guests of the royal family, which operates within the club. Among other events The Royal Swedish Yacht Club also organizes one of world’s best known oceanic regattas, namely the Eurocard Round Gotland. The Saltsjöbaden and Sandhamn marinas are both owned by the Royal Swedish Yacht Club.

Elan Marine is present in 32 different markets and has been present in Sweden for 20 years, with every year’s increase in sales. Only last year we sold 12 yachts in the Swedish market.

Elan Racing Team participated in the 11th nautical giant slalom that took part on Sunday February 8 in Kranjska gora. Over 400 skiers applied for the competition and were arranged in different age groups. 95 contestants applied in the men’s group, born 1966-1975. Elan team members were ranked as follows: 26th place Branko Brčin 50.02, 36th place Mitja Margon 51.47, 58th place Bojan Volčič 56.42 and 93rd place Tomaž Čopi 1.23.29, who, despite his fall, achieved an excellent time.
43 contestants applied for the race in the younger group, men born 1976-1985. A surprisingly good result was achieved by Samo Lazar who took the 8th place with a time of 52.13 and was followed by our Toš Skrt Golja who came in 16th with a time of 55.32.
This ski and sail combination will finish on 17 April, 2010 with the Slovenian Cup regatta organized by Yacht club Domžale. There, Elan Racing Team will no doubt display even greater skill, as the men are far better sailors that they are skiers, even if their ski results are very good.

Elan in Israel

A festive cocktail party took place in the Tel Aviv Marina, to celebrate a few happy events: Elan 60 years anniversary of making boats, the arrival of the first Impression 514 to Israel and the Jewish holiday of Hanuka.
The chairman of Elan Mr. Robert Ferko and the Area Sales Managar Mr. Samo Lazar attended the event, where they met with Elan clients and friends in Israel, including 2 Israeli racing teams leading the IRC category on Elan yachts. The Slovenian ambassador to Israel, Mr. Boris Sovic attended the event to welcome Elan management to Israel and congratulate Elan Israel on promoting the relationship between Elan and the Israeli market.

Eddie Jordan, synonymous with fast cars and large yachts has been taking a more leisurely pace this year having taken delivery of his new Elan 450. Spending the summer sailing in the Ionian and Adriatic , Eddie has found time to intertwine his Formula 1 commitments with some serious cruising. From the conversations we have had with Eddie, one can only describe him as ‘smitten’ with his 450. We are delighted that Eddie is enjoying his Elan and wish him all the best for his future cruising.

World Premier E310 - Southampton International Boat Show

On Friday 11th September 2009 at Southampton International Boat Show, Premier Yacht Sales Ltd hosted the World Premier of the brand new model, the Elan 310.

The event was a great success with members of the press from all major yachting titles alongside many other guests.

Rob Humphreys, Elan designer was introduced by Julian Gowing, Premier Marinas Sales Director made a short presentation on the features of the boat and the differences between her and the Elan 31 that she replaces. Robert Ferko, CEO of the Elan Group then closed the presentation by expressing his gratitude to Premier and his positivity about the partnership between the two brands.

The Elan 310 is a fantastic looking boat and has so far been very well received by trade and consumers alike. Premier are looking forward to having her tested on return from Southampton Boat Show, and are sure she is going to impress with her sailing performance.”

Elan Marine launched new sailing boat E310 and celebrated 60 anniversary.

Friday 28 August 2009 was a very special day For Elan Marine since its very latest yacht, the E 310 of the Performance range, was launched in Portorož.

Elan marine is proud to announce the launch of their newest yacht from the Performance line, the E 310, which took place on Friday 28 August 2009 in Portorož - Slovenia. Here the E 310 was presented to dealers and the press while its world premiere for the public will be on 11th September at the 2009 Southampton Boat Show. The launch was part of a celebration event, honouring 60 years of boat building in Elan.

In his speech, the host, chairman of Elan group, Dr. Robert Ferko, pointed out Elan’s extraordinary business model offering skis in the winter and sails in the summer.

"We are present throughout the globe; the winter division is present in over 40 countries while the marine division made its way into all significant world markets especially European. Research places us among most recognizable brands.. What’s more Elan is Slovenia’s best-known brand."

He also mentioned some numbers: "In its history Elan produced over 6000 boats and boat models, operated in 35 countries and received several dozen international awards including – to name the most important one – The European Boat of the year award for 2006 and 2007."

Elan goes full speed ahead in 2009

Elan set a good course for this year with the display of both Performance R and the Impression sailboat lines at the Düsseldorf trade fair. The boats were a huge success among fair visitors despite the foretold world recession.

At the beginning of February Elan Begunje gained new management with Dr. Robert Ferko, who entered Elan’s fleet as chairman of the board of directors at Skimar. His 20 years knowledge and experience as manager is a guarantee that will undoubtedly make sure Elan’s boats stand with the best, be it for their design or the technologies used.

Eddie Jordan chose our fastest sailboat, the remarkable E450

Elan finished the sale of an E450 to the Irish sports enthusiast Eddie Jordan who made his name by founding an F1 Team and the fact that Michael Schumacher entered Formula One driving his cars.
The daring Irishman decided to buy the E450 because he believes that boats made by Elan are still a synonym for high speed, quality and prestige.

By choosing Elan’s sailboat he confirmed that Elan’s development strategies are on the right course and what’s more, his choice placed Elan among the leading boat manufacturers in the world.

The E450 was, like all others in Elan’s fleet, designed by the renowned Rob Humphreys.

The handover of the vessel took place on 14 April 2009 in marina Kaštela, Split where Mr. Jordan, accompanied by his wife Marie, personally received the keys to his new boat. Looking at the floating beauty with excitement in his eyes, Mr. Jordan said he started doing regattas as a boy in the laser class, and he hasn’t done it for more than 30 years. Last year he started being more active with sailing again, because he had missed regattas. With this new boat, he says, he is now ready to take part in the races in France and Sardinia.
However, the E450 will not be used exclusively for racing but also serve the Jordans as a family cruiser.

Mr. Jordan commended Elan Marin d.o.o. as a boat manufacturing company because of responsiveness of their product management during boat construction as well as the approachability of Elan’s sales department.

Elan Marin d.o.o. also fitted the boat with some new add-ons that are not part of standard equipment but were met with a lot of praise. These were the foldaway cockpit table that lowers directly into the floor and the boat lift on the stern of the ship.

All of this only confirms the fact that Elan Marin d.o.o. is a boat manufacturer capable of meeting the demands and requirements of any customer.

The Elan Racing Team

In May we will launch our test fleet in Portorož where potential customers and journalists will be able to test our boats. The fleet will consist of Performance line sailboats E380, E450 and the regatta sailboat E410. The E410 will be manned by The Elan Racing Team consisting of crews led by Iztok Čopi and Mitja Margona. A notable member of the latter crew is also a well known former oarsman from Bled, Jani Klemenčič, who found new sporting challenges in sailing.

2009 Novelties

Developers at Elan are already working on a new model of the Performance line that is scheduled to be unveiled in September 2009 to celebrate 60 years of boat building by Elan.

Elan Marin also intends to expand the Impression line with new models planned to be revealed at the 2010 Düsseldorf Trade Fair.

Eddie Jordan choise our fastest: performance E450

He decided to buy this particular boat for its high speed, modern design and good overall performance.
The E450 was designed by Rob Humphreys and outfitted so as to best meet Jordan’s requirements and preferences.
As a teenager Jordan competed in the Laser class and now wants to relive that experience.

New management at Skimar group

Dear All,

As you probably know, the Skimar monitoring committee has appointed Dr. Robert Ferko as the new chairman of the board of directors in a meeting held on 31. January 2009.
Dr. Ferko has spent his nineteen year career working at technology development, marketing and managerial positions in a variety of food processing firms, including Žito, Gorenjka, Droga Kolinska and Delta Holding in Belgrade.
He has also been in charge of restructuring firms and crisis management.
By the end of April he will produce a reorganization programme, a business plan for the current year along with a business projection until the year 2013 and an investment programme for restructuring of the whole group.
To successfully reorganize Elan Marine it is vital that all workers, as well as dealers, actively take part.
Dr Ferko is an enthusiast athlete, both an active skier and sailor, and will as such take this position body and soul.

CROATIAN BOAT OF THE YEAR 2009 - E380

Boating industry has chosen the winner

In the election "Croatian Boat of the Year 2009", which alredy seventh years organizes the online yachting magazine "nauCAT" (www.naucat.com), and the voters are exclusively worldwide boatyards, the winner of this year in the sailboat category 34-40 ft is the Elan 380. In this year election overall 62 boats was involved divided in 3 categories and 14 groups.
Thanks to the original idea of "nauCAT", that the voters are exclusively worldwide boatbuilders presented on the Croatian market (they can't vote for the group of boats where is their nominated boat), boatbuilding profession itself decides which yacht should be pronounced the best and the competition get the necessary attention. It's curiously that about 23 % of voters was the boatbuilders which have had not the one nominated boat, whereas whose votes in many groups have been crucial. That is still one more proof of interests for such manner of election, but also about fairly play among the boatbuilders.
Winner of the competition "Croatian Boat of the Year 2009" will take the nauCAT's boat's-cat statuette, while winners of the particular groups will be awarded with plaques.

Elan 410 - Slovenian Boat of the Year 2008

Elan 410 has been elected as ¨Slovenian Boat of the Year 2008¨ by magazine Val navtika.
The jury appreciated the outstanding performances under sails and comfortable interior.
Elan 410 continues the success of Elan 340 which won the award in 2007.

The NEW Elan 380

The Elan 380 is a new high performance cruiser designed to capture the spirit of the performance-oriented sailor and at the same time offer comfortable cruising in style for his family or friends.

Elan 380 is unmistakably an Elan performance yacht. She features the same outstanding characteristics as the other yachts in this exciting, award-winning range.

Her elegant and refined lines with clean decks maximize the freedom and safe movement on board. The side view of the new Elan Below deck: 3 cabin, 2 cabin with 1 head or 2 cabin 2 heads provide enough space for privacy and relaxation. The fully equipped L-shaped galley fulfils even the toughest chef‘s demands. The spacious and airy saloon offers extraordinary comfort for the crew and plenty of efficient storage, and the forward facing chart table serves the needs of both navigation and communication. The modern look is provided by horizontally grained Anigre wood with Wenge type laminated floorboards. 380 with its exceptional waterline length and designer hull and deck portlights are just details that contribute to her aesthetic and harmonious strength. The open transom with efficient cockpit layout is designed to fulfill the needs of racing crew as well enhance the ease of handling while cruising shorthanded. All lines including the German mainsheet system are led under the deck to the cockpit and to powerful self-tailing winches, and the large diameter wheel places the helmsman in the optimum position for sailing efficiency, visibility and control.
Rob Humphreys’ masterful configuration of the keel, rudder, rig and hull design produces a well-balanced yacht with optimum weight distribution along with remarkably high level of stability and excellent response.

The hull and main stringers are moulded in a one-shot process using highly advanced technology based on environmentally friendly vacuum-assisted lamination called 3D VAIL. This advanced technique improves the strength and mechanical properties of the hull laminate by as much as 50%. The hull's powerful inner structure ensures that all loads from the keel and rig are distributed effectively with minimum hull flexing.

The result of the extensive hydrodynamic research and attention to detail gives the helmsman and crew a confident feeling of safety, control and comfort during navigation in every kind of sea and wind conditions.

The launch is scheduled for Internautica boat show in Portorož, Slovenia in May.

First sea trial with the new Elan 450

The Elan crew accompanied with famous Norwegian sailor Tor Hove sailed out on the Friday 23rd of November for the first time with much awaited new high performance cruiser - Elan 450.
The weather conditions were just perfect for testing…30 knots of wind with waves and gusts put a smile on crew members faces.
Balance upwind was beautiful and rudders feel is excellent. Pushing her to the extreme showed no loose of control. Control problems are not an issue with this boat. The speed stayed remarkably constant despite exaggerating heel.
Downwind was a bit of a challenge with a huge gennaker hoisted but Elan 450 impressed the crew with speeds achieved and precise control.
General feedback was Elan 450 is a fast performance cruiser with high quality deck gear, sleek looks, superb handling and performance for a such a class of a boat.

The new ELAN 450 launched

The new stunning Elan 450 was launched in Fiera Internazionale di Genoa, Italy.
The new 45 footer is featuring the twin rudder system for outstanding control under helm. Its sleek lines and extended water line length combined with large sail are and retractable bow sprit is a promise for fast and safe voyages. Standard retractable bow thruster gives helmsman even more confidence in marina and optional hydraulic gangway eases the way from ship to shore.
Under deck the new Elan 450 welcomes the crew of up to 10. Its bright interior and lots of storage offers the crew ultimate comfort onboard.
The new Elan 450 will be also presented at the Barcelona Boat Show in beginning of November.

Estonian company Spinnaker OU has been accepted to Elan marine’s dealer network.
Located in capitol Tallinn. Spinnaker sees great potential for Elan sailing yachts in Estonian aquatorium.

Elan 410 and Impression 514 nominated for European Yacht of the Year Award

Elan marine is happy to announce that the Elan 410 and Impression 514 are among the finalists in the category up to 14 metres and in category over 14 metres.
This means our boats have been ranked as one of the 5 most interesting and promising newcomers of its class.
Each of the 11 jury members will have a chance to sail the boats and get first-hand impressions.
The sea trials will be held in Ijmouiden, Holland in September or in Barcelona in November.
The European Yacht of the Year Awards will be presented in January 2008 in Dusseldorf.

Elan 450 - flagship

Elan 450 is logical step forward of the redesigned Elan performance range which main features are: open cockpit, lines below deck, ¨german¨ main sheeting system, long length at waterline, clean bow lines, designers hull and deck portlights.

The launch is scheduled for autumn.

1000 hulls made in VAIL technology

Elan announces 1000th hull made using advanced environmentally friendly VAIL (Vacuum Assisted infusion lamination) technology.
Since 2003 Elan is using only VAIL – hull lamination technology through the whole range of sailing yachts.
In 2006 Elan upgraded its VAIL tecnology with the 3D VAIL technology. 3D VAIL is controlled and repeatable vacuum assisted lamination process, where the hull and main stiffeners are laminated in one step.
One shot lamination under vacuum force, increases hull stiffness and ensure perfect joint between hull and stiffeners that reduces posibility of delamination failure even at high impact loads.
3D VAIL lamination means advance for all involved in lamination process and further phases of boat production because of it`s ¨No resin contact and min. VOC & dust emissions¨ benefits.

Elan 410 - first sea trials

The maiden test sail took place in the waters outside Izola, Slovenia.
The crew consisted engineers from Elan’s R&D, representative of Rob Humphreys design studio, sail maker, members of sales department and Tor Hove Elan’s distributer for Norway – himself an experienced sailor and winner of numorous regattas in Norway.

Elan opens new production facilities

Elan shipyard finished with the final works on the new modern production facilities on Begunje location.
The new facilities are designed for the production of the yachts up to 64 feet.
At the moment only Impression 514 will be build in the new production plant and the first completed Impressions will be finished in mid March.

Elan 340 wins an award in Finland

Elan 340 was voted as Boat of the Boat show at latest Helsinki International Boat Show - VENE 2007 Bat.
The award was received by Elan's distributer for Finland- Kapukaia.

Germanischer Lloyd Yacht Plus certificate for Elan 340

Elan 340 is one of the first serial production sailing yachts to receive the certificate Germanischer Lloyd Yacht Plus.
Elan 340 fulfils all essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive 94/25 EC and its amendments 2003/44 EC. A continuous compliance with respective design and safety standards has been supervised and certified by Germanischer Lloyd according to its newest and unique guarantee of quality and safety - "GL Yacht Plus".

Elan 410 launched

The new Elan’s cruiser racer was launched at Boot Dusseldorf.
Rob Humphreys design Elan 410 is a complete new hi-tech design performance cruiser and logical next step in Elan’s restyled Elan performance range with the emphasis on top level performance to capture the spirit of the competitive sailor and at the same time offering the well appointed comforts and style for the enjoyment of the crew onboard.

Elan 340 – European Yacht of the Year 2007

The jury, consisting of journalists from ten European boat magazines after the intensive sea trials in Barcelona, Spain in October 2006 has reached the decision to honor Elan 340 with the prestigious award - "European Yacht of the Year 2007" in category up top 10 m in length.
The "European Yacht of the Year" award is second in a row for Elan yard. Last year Impression 344 won the award in the same category.
