Elan Marine appoints new dealer for Turkey

Elan marine has announced that Solo Deniz centrum has been chosen to serve as a new dealer in Turkey.
The company is located in Izmir.
Elan marine is convinced that Solo Deniz has all the attributes to become a successful dealership for Turkish clients.

Elan 410 - Slovenian Boat of the Year 2008

Elan 410 has been elected as ¨Slovenian Boat of the Year 2008¨ by magazine Val navtika.
The jury appreciated the outstanding performances under sails and comfortable interior.
Elan 410 continues the success of Elan 340 which won the award in 2007.

The NEW Elan 380

The Elan 380 is a new high performance cruiser designed to capture the spirit of the performance-oriented sailor and at the same time offer comfortable cruising in style for his family or friends.

Elan 380 is unmistakably an Elan performance yacht. She features the same outstanding characteristics as the other yachts in this exciting, award-winning range.

Her elegant and refined lines with clean decks maximize the freedom and safe movement on board. The side view of the new Elan Below deck: 3 cabin, 2 cabin with 1 head or 2 cabin 2 heads provide enough space for privacy and relaxation. The fully equipped L-shaped galley fulfils even the toughest chef‘s demands. The spacious and airy saloon offers extraordinary comfort for the crew and plenty of efficient storage, and the forward facing chart table serves the needs of both navigation and communication. The modern look is provided by horizontally grained Anigre wood with Wenge type laminated floorboards. 380 with its exceptional waterline length and designer hull and deck portlights are just details that contribute to her aesthetic and harmonious strength. The open transom with efficient cockpit layout is designed to fulfill the needs of racing crew as well enhance the ease of handling while cruising shorthanded. All lines including the German mainsheet system are led under the deck to the cockpit and to powerful self-tailing winches, and the large diameter wheel places the helmsman in the optimum position for sailing efficiency, visibility and control.
Rob Humphreys’ masterful configuration of the keel, rudder, rig and hull design produces a well-balanced yacht with optimum weight distribution along with remarkably high level of stability and excellent response.

The hull and main stringers are moulded in a one-shot process using highly advanced technology based on environmentally friendly vacuum-assisted lamination called 3D VAIL. This advanced technique improves the strength and mechanical properties of the hull laminate by as much as 50%. The hull's powerful inner structure ensures that all loads from the keel and rig are distributed effectively with minimum hull flexing.

The result of the extensive hydrodynamic research and attention to detail gives the helmsman and crew a confident feeling of safety, control and comfort during navigation in every kind of sea and wind conditions.

The launch is scheduled for Internautica boat show in Portorož, Slovenia in May.

First sea trial with the new Elan 450

The Elan crew accompanied with famous Norwegian sailor Tor Hove sailed out on the Friday 23rd of November for the first time with much awaited new high performance cruiser - Elan 450.
The weather conditions were just perfect for testing…30 knots of wind with waves and gusts put a smile on crew members faces.
Balance upwind was beautiful and rudders feel is excellent. Pushing her to the extreme showed no loose of control. Control problems are not an issue with this boat. The speed stayed remarkably constant despite exaggerating heel.
Downwind was a bit of a challenge with a huge gennaker hoisted but Elan 450 impressed the crew with speeds achieved and precise control.
General feedback was Elan 450 is a fast performance cruiser with high quality deck gear, sleek looks, superb handling and performance for a such a class of a boat.

The new ELAN 450 launched

The new stunning Elan 450 was launched in Fiera Internazionale di Genoa, Italy.
The new 45 footer is featuring the twin rudder system for outstanding control under helm. Its sleek lines and extended water line length combined with large sail are and retractable bow sprit is a promise for fast and safe voyages. Standard retractable bow thruster gives helmsman even more confidence in marina and optional hydraulic gangway eases the way from ship to shore.
Under deck the new Elan 450 welcomes the crew of up to 10. Its bright interior and lots of storage offers the crew ultimate comfort onboard.
The new Elan 450 will be also presented at the Barcelona Boat Show in beginning of November.

Elan Marine appoints Estonian dealer

Estonian company Spinnaker OU has been accepted to Elan marine’s dealer network.
Located in capitol Tallinn. Spinnaker sees great potential for Elan sailing yachts in Estonian aquatorium.

Elan 410 and Impression 514 nominated for European Yacht of the Year Award

Elan marine is happy to announce that the Elan 410 and Impression 514 are among the finalists in the category up to 14 metres and in category over 14 metres.
This means our boats have been ranked as one of the 5 most interesting and promising newcomers of its class.
Each of the 11 jury members will have a chance to sail the boats and get first-hand impressions.
The sea trials will be held in Ijmouiden, Holland in September or in Barcelona in November.
The European Yacht of the Year Awards will be presented in January 2008 in Dusseldorf.

Elan 450 - flagship

Elan 450 is logical step forward of the redesigned Elan performance range which main features are: open cockpit, lines below deck, ¨german¨ main sheeting system, long length at waterline, clean bow lines, designers hull and deck portlights.
The new Elan 450 will also feature: twin steering wheels, cockpit table stored in dedicated space in cockpit floor, dedicated space for sprayhood, main sheet traveler mounted on cockpit floor, 3 pairs of winches, flush hatches on coachroof, open bow pulpit, through deck furling system for genoa or jib, swiveling stemhead fitting for anchor, optional self tecking jib system, openable hydraulic swimming platform, retractable bow sprit...
Interior offers spacious feeling with lots of storage and attention for details. Beside lighter interior wood it is offered also the teak interior.
The main feature which differentiate Elan 450 from the competitors is twin rudders which offers excellent steering control in all range of sailing conditions.
The interior layout is 3 or 4 cabins with 2 heads department.
The launch is scheduled for autumn.

1000 hulls made in VAIL technology

Elan announces 1000th hull made using advanced environmentally friendly VAIL (Vacuum Assisted infusion lamination) technology.
Since 2003 Elan is using only VAIL – hull lamination technology through the whole range of sailing yachts.
In 2006 Elan upgraded its VAIL tecnology with the 3D VAIL technology. 3D VAIL is controlled and repeatable vacuum assisted lamination process, where the hull and main stiffeners are laminated in one step.
One shot lamination under vacuum force, increases hull stiffness and ensure perfect joint between hull and stiffeners that reduces posibility of delamination failure even at high impact loads.
3D VAIL lamination means advance for all involved in lamination process and further phases of boat production because of it`s ¨No resin contact and min. VOC & dust emissions¨ benefits.
Elan shipyard is the leader among the serial sailing yachts manufacturers using vacuum hull lamination.

Elan 340 - success at Internautica Boat Show in Portorose

At the most important boat show in Slovenia – Internautica in Portorož Elan 340 was selected as Boat of the Boat show.

Elan opens new production facilities

Elan shipyard finished with the final works on the new modern production facilities on Begunje location.
The new facilities are designed for the production of the yachts up to 64 feet.
At the moment only Impression 514 will be build in the new production plant and the first completed Impressions will be finished in mid March.

Elan 410 - first sea trials

The maiden test sail took place in the waters outside Izola, Slovenia.
The crew consisted engineers from Elan’s R&D, representative of Rob Humphreys design studio, sail maker, members of sales department and Tor Hove Elan’s distributer for Norway – himself an experienced sailor and winner of numorous regattas in Norway.

Elan 340 wins an award in Finland

Elan 340 was voted as Boat of the Boat show at latest Helsinki International Boat Show - VENE 2007 Bat.
The award was received by Elan's distributer for Finland- Kapukaia.

Germanischer Lloyd Yacht Plus certificate for Elan 340

Elan 340 is one of the first serial production sailing yachts to receive the certificate Germanischer Lloyd Yacht Plus.
Elan 340 fulfils all essential safety requirements of the Recreational Craft Directive 94/25 EC and its amendments 2003/44 EC. A continuous compliance with respective design and safety standards has been supervised and certified by Germanischer Lloyd according to its newest and unique guarantee of quality and safety - "GL Yacht Plus".

Elan 340 – European Yacht of the Year 2007

The jury, consisting of journalists from ten European boat magazines after the intensive sea trials in Barcelona, Spain in October 2006 has reached the decision to honor Elan 340 with the prestigious award - "European Yacht of the Year 2007" in category up top 10 m in length.
The "European Yacht of the Year" award is second in a row for Elan yard. Last year Impression 344 won the award in the same category.

Elan 410 launched
